iPad Mini 6 Leaks
First of all, the iPad Mini 6 comes with a metal unibody design, but according to sources which include analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, it should increase diagonal size to 8.5 or even 9.1 inches. The trick is that it does so without changing the footprint of the iPad Mini 5, cutting the bezels instead. Oddly enought these renders show two punch holes: one for the fingerprint scanner, a Touch ID one in the middle of the device’s lower area, plus a small one at the top for the selfie shooter.
The lower punch hole is just a representation of the Touch ID area, so it will probably be embedded in the screen, a premiere for Apple. Measurements for the small new iPad have leaked and they’re the following: 203.2 mm x 134.8 mm x 6.25 mm. The screen measures 195 x 126.6 mm, meaning it’s a 9.15 incher. Probably just LCD, not an OLED or mini LED just yet. The soruce also mentions the Apple A14 processor inside, taken straight from the iPhone 12. All these switches and changes sound like the product is about to get hella pricey…
We’ll probably see it launched in March together with the iPad Pro 2021 in the 11 inch and 12.9 inch versions.
