Oppo Find X3 Pro
A few days ago we got to see a patent for the Oppo Find X3, proposing a wraparound screen and now we also get a concept phone inspired by it. It doesn’t go all the way to Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha, but it’s also not just a waterfall screen device like the Huawei Mate 30 Pro.
It’s based on a patent from Letsgodigital and what we get here is oddly angular in some angles, in spite of being promised an ultra curved screen. This is basically what Samsung wanted to do with the Galaxy S7 Edge, but it takes it to a new level. The scree goes towards the back so much, that you can easily view notifications and icons on its sides. Obviously buttons are gone, physical ones at least. We also get a camera similar in design to the Huawei P30 Pro one I’d say.
The design identity is pretty well aligned with the Oppo devices and I can’t seem to spot a selfie camera. It’s either hidden below the screen or in a pop up mechanism at the top side. I have yet to figure out the utility and practicability of a display that goes so much towards the back side. I mean it looks cool and all, but it’s a beast to produce and keep from scratching and cracking. Imagine having to find screen covers for it… Will this ever happen?
