Sony Xperia XZ3 (2018) XZ3 INFINITY Introduction Concept, Our Dream Xperia Design with 95% Screen

This week’s surprise phone launch was the one of the Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium, that really came out of nowhere. Also out of nowhere comes a successor, made by Techconfigurations. It’s the Sony Xperia XZ3 Infinity, that goes to the next level.

Yes, it keeps the dual back camera, but the front camera is now available as a pop up mechanism from the top side. The metal frame stands out, being glossier and more massive, not camouflaged with glassy vibes like the predecessors. The two “almost notches” upfront are actually slits for the dual speakers. This Xperia cuts the screen bezels as much as possible and I’m sure it goes past 95% screen to body ratio.

It’s a bit too massive and too wide compared to what Sony offered so far, at 6.2 inches in diagonal, but I’m digging the vibe. Sadly, it seems like a return to the Omnibalance approach, since it’s very angular and Sony ditched that for curves, curves, Kardashian style curves. Hopefully with this refound angularity means a more compact approach will ensue.

A 200+ gram phone doesn’t seem to please many people, particularly if it’s the slippery variety.
