Sony Xperia 5 Plus
Well, this video a bit older, back in the day we weren’t sure about the naming of the future Sony Xperia flagship. It was Xperia 5 Plus for a while and now it’s Xperia 1.1. It’s coming at MWC 2020, unless the event gets cancelled on account of the coronavirus. Now let’s see how Techconfigurations envisions the newcomer!
They’ve created a set of 3D renders and also a video of the device below. There’s a lot going on here, but at the time the device feels like it’s headed back into the Omnibalance direction. It’s more angular, multi layered and ditches all modern trends: notches, punch hole cameras, even the Oreo camera of the Oneplus 7T. It has dual front firing stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos tech and a side placed fingerprint scanner, integrated in the Power button.
Sony Xperia 5 Plus also has 5G connectivity and it comes in beautiful blue and coral hues. It seems to adopt 3 main sensors for the back camera and two ToF ones in a 3D setup. It also increases the battery to a well deserved 4000 mAh capacity and comes in a brown and pink hue a well. Now as far as the back cameras go, we’ve got a 64 MP Sony shooter apparently, a ultra wide camera that could be anywhere between 8 MP and 40 MP, plus a telephoto lens I hope, not the useless Macro or Bokeh one (since we have ToF instead).
I sure hope that Techconfigurations is wrong and the price doesn’t end up being $1500, since that’s foldable phone money. Somehow I was expecting a different camera design, don’t know why… By the way, here’s a specs list from the designer:
- 6.6inchAMOLED Display
- Snapdragon 865
- 8/12GB Ram
- 256,512GB Internal memory
- 16+12+12MP Quad camera
- 8MP secondary camera
- 4000mAh battery
