Moto Z: Update on Android 7.1.1 Nougat is rolling out and update to Android O as soon

The Moto Z from Lenovo gets a fresh update and thus the Android version 7.1.1 Nougat. After the installation, the Lenovo smartphone is not only up to date with regard to Android, but also has all the security updates published so far by Google.

If the fresh software is downloaded, the Moto Z asks if you want to install it. The duration of the operation is estimated to be 30 minutes. For me, the installation was completed after 17 minutes. According to the changelog, the patch offers not only Android 7.1.1 Nougat, but also access to Google's videotelephony app "Duo", "App-link actions" as well as support updates for Moto Mods extensions.
More Moto Mods in progress
The update for Moto Mods is likely to become important for some users in the near future, because together with the successor, the Moto Z2 Force Edition , Lenovo has again presented a new Moto Mod. This is a 360-degree camera for plugging into the smartphone - and it will probably also be necessary to adapt the system software of the Moto Z.

Lenovo is currently one of the manufacturers, who provide their Android smartphones especially fast with software updates. At least the devices of the Moto series have released Google released updates frequently before the models of other manufacturers. We are curious to see how long it will be until the Moto Z and the Moto Z2 Force Edition update to Android O as soon as Google has released the new version.
