Motorola Edge 2 Alpha Gets Dual Display 2020

One of the best looking phones from 2020, at least seen from the front is definitely the Motorola Edge. The back side is kind of uninspired on both the Edge and Edge+. Even the front may polarize some people, who prefer not to have curved edges for their screens. Now Techconfigurations has come up with a brand new design for the Motorola Edge 2 and you can see it rendered below.

As usual we have a 3D render of the device in the video at the end of the article. This time the device gets a secondary screen at the bacik, which shows a texture inspire by kevlar. I already know why there’s an “Alpha” in the name of the device, since it’s loosely inspired by the Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha. The screen upfront is a bit flatter this time around and also lacks a punch hole for the selfie camera. It remains a huge phone, like the Moto Edge, also very heavy and thick.

The back screen aids with camera capture and also helps with selfies, since we don’t have a dedicated selfie camera anymore and we have to use the main one for that purpose. The facade is all seamless display and the back screen is integrated in a symmetrical manner. The screen adapts its content and options contextually, as you rotate the phone. Specs are obviously high end:

  • Display: Front: 6.7 inch AMOLED Full HD+, 120 Hz
  • CPU: Snapdragon 875
  • RAM: 12/16 GB LPDDR5
  • Storage: 128/256 GB
  • Battery: 5000 mAh, 65W fast charge
  • Camera: 108 MP + 16 MP + 20 MP
  • Others: 5G, in display fingerprint scanner

I watched the video below carefully, but didn’t find any mention of a diagonal for this phone’s back screen. I suppose it’s a 6 incher or something like that. I love the variation of color hues and from what I can see the camera module stays the same in size and shape as the Moto Edge one. Hopefully it’s better…
